Today is Patrick's first day at the office. I think it's kind of funny: my dad recommended me for a job, and then I in turn recommended Patrick. I told him he will have to recommend the next person they hire.
I've been learning that's really how business works most of the time. It's all about having connections and networking to get jobs, not about posting your resume on Monster.com, most of the time.
Anyway, I'm on the other side of the office, so I can't hear what's going on over there, but I hope things are going well for him. I'm sure he's not doing too much today--just learning and training. It was really nice to ride to work with him this morning, though. Carpooling is going to be great for saving gas, and I like riding to work with a good friend instead of alone.
Okay, back to work!
